I had a short fishing trip to IRIOMOTE island (Okinawa pref Japan)in mid June.

Most part of this island is covered with forest. We can enjoy fishing in various situations like mountain streams, Mangrove rivers, and coral sea.

In this trip, i had good fishing especially in the mountain stream. I drove a car, found a good river and walked up stream half an hour.

When entering the fresh water crossed the tidal water area, vegetations are changed. This is the jungle perch habit.

I cast M50SR-S around the big rocks in the rapid water. Many jungle perch chased  and took it ! M50SR-S twitching action is super effective for jungle perch. And this good weight balance was matched with shallow rapid water.

After i enjoyed summer stream, went back to tidal area and caught a my pb Mangrove Jack on M100SR-SP!!

My first fishing trip with babyface lures was perfect!!

6月半ば、短い休みが取れたので約一年ぶりに沖縄県西表島を訪れることにした。

西表島は島のほとんどがジャングルの大自然。釣りにおいても、渓流からマングローブの川、珊瑚が美しい海まで多様な釣り場が揃っている。

今回の旅では、特に渓流で楽しい釣りができた。

車を走らせ、雰囲気の良さそうな川を見つけたら、ザバザバと川を遡ってみる。

気水域を越えると植生もかわり、今回のターゲット、オオクチユゴイの生息域だ。

M50SR-Sをセットし、滝壺や岩の周りをトゥイッチングで誘うと面白いようにバイトしてくる。

高速リトリーブでも飛び出さないバランスと程よい自重で浅い渓流もサクサク通していける。この釣りにはジャストフィットだった。

ビッグサイズは出なかったが、フレッシュな魚たちに癒され、最後は川で泳いでクールダウン。

そのまま河口でM100SR-SPのただ巻きで自己ベスト級のマングローブジャックをキャッチし、夏を一足先に満喫した。
